How can we revive the High Street?
![]()
Our workshop on Re-imagining the High Street last week came up with a large number of creative ideas, ranging through First Fridays happening night, rolling pop-up retailers programme, Insta-gran, Pond Square as our village heart, repair cafe... You'll be hearing more about how we are going to carry them forward in future newsletters but, in the meantime, there's a new blog on how the High Street has changed over the last two decades here.
Tell Haringey you'd like a parking review
Haringey Parking have responded to our concerns about the proposed Camden CPZ changes in and around the High Street by saying that they are in contact with their Camden colleagues, monitoring the situation and will prioritise a review of the Highgate CPZ (HGA). If you would like them to do this a.s.a.p., please write to Frontline Services.
Highgate's buses and air pollution
Check out our latest blog to find out how Highgate's buses are gradually improving. We will continue to chivy TfL on this, as well as working with our neighbouring forums on securing a hoppa bus to join up our communities.

The Friends of the Harington need you!
Highgate's very own Harington scheme provides individual - and often transformative - learning programmes for young adults with learning disabilities and/or difficulties, to help them into employment, further education or a more rewarding life. The Friends of the Harington support the scheme by fundraising for vital ‘extras’ like the annual learners’ trip to the Isle of Wight. You can join the Friends for a minimum subscription of £10 p.a., help with events or volunteer at the horticultural training site or in the shop. For more information, contact Carol Detheridge at friendsofharington@gmail.com
Checkout the Highgate Calendar for full listings of events this and every month. You can add your own events there, too - vital if you want to make sure you are not clashing with other Highgate events
Let us know if you want us to include an event or campaign you are running in this newsletter via info@forhighgate.org.
